The Uffizi Galleries conserve three works by Ambrogio Lorenzetti (Siena 1290-1348) which had a notable influence on the development of Italian painting in the fourteenth century. These are the Stories of Saint Nicholas (1332-1334), the Altarpiece of Saint Crescenzio (1342), of which only the panel with the Presentation of Christ in the Temple remains, and the Triptych of Saint Proculus (1332).
